For optimal permeability of the intestinal wall.

Indications:

  • Leaking bowel
  • Restores the intestinal barrier
  • Maintaining a healthy intestinal mucosa
  • Supporting the digest

What is & how does a leaky gut occur?

The epithelial cells of the intestinal wall are connected by tight junctions (protein connections).

These protein compounds maintain the impenetrability of the intestines to some extent allowing nutrients to pass, while being prevent toxins, undigested food particles and harmful microbes from crossing the barrier of the intestinal tract and thus enter the bloodstream.

Damage to the intestinal membrane, due to a ignition or a imbalance in the intestinal flora, can break these tight junctions and this creates large spaces or gaps between cells of the intestinal wall causing the intestine hyperpermeable becomes, hence the name 'leaky gut syndrome‘.

Usage:  1 level measuring spoon (5mg) daily - during a meal - to be dissolved in water. A treatment of 4 to 6 months is recommended for optimal results.

Do you suffer from (chronic) diarrhea?

You can already get started with products such as Permea & Boulardii.

Bear in mind that these five underlying causes are often at the source of this problem and thus best investigated further:

  1. Long-term use of gastric acid inhibitors: this can lead to intestinal dysbiosis, where pathogenic bacteria can take over. If this is the culprit, it is important to see how we can normalize pre-digestion back and possibly eliminate the disturbed bacterial composition in the gut.
  2. SIBO or small intestinal bacterial overgrowth: in case of this form of dysbiosis in the small intestine, large amounts of bacteria grow from the large intestine to the small intestine. Here, gases are created that can either cause constipation or diarrhea.Using a microbiome test, you can identify your risk of SIBO.
  3. (genetic) food intolerances: possibly you are genetically gluten or lactose intolerant, without knowing it yourself. Both in blood and genetic testing, you can find out if this is to blame.
  4. Antibiotic use: After one or more courses of antibiotics, certain bacterial strains may be deficient, often accompanied by an overgrowth of pathogenic fungi. Diarrhea is also a common complaint in this case. Saccharomyces boulardii is a non-pathogenic yeast that we then often use first.
  5. Hyperpermeable bowel: If there is prolonged dysbiosis, intestinal hyperpermeability can develop. This is a condition in which the intestinal barrier is disrupted. This creates "leaks" that also allow larger molecules to reach the underlying immune system between cells. The activation of the immune system can lead to unwanted reactions to certain nutrients, local and systemic inflammation. Use the microbiome test to track whether there is potential risk for this gut condition.
